Community Farm

CAL You Can's Community Farm The CAL you can Community Farm is located on 22 hectares of land to the east of Benalla. It features a variety of training and meeting spaces with full kitchen facilities which can be used by groups on a short or long term basis. The Farm was established to provide a community space for many different activities.

These facilities are available to all members of the community - individuals, clubs and groups.

The Community Farm aims to create and support life learning in a safe rural environment, encouraging connection through community participation.

Who can use the Community Farm?

The Community Farm is available to the whole community but we have identified three target groups that we believe stand to gain the most from participation in the project:

  • People with disability - CAL you can's core business is supporting people with disability. The Community Farm is used to enhance the programs available to clients and is also available to other disability organizations.
  • Youth - programs work to increase the number of young people who study and stay in the community by providing pathways into further studies and work in the region. By encouraging and supporting partnerships between individuals and companies, CAL you can aims to ensure that local talent and expertise stays local.
  • University of the Third Age - the farm provides a forum where retired people can share their skills and experiences with future generations in a genuine, supportive environment.

CAL you can Community Farm partners include: Regent Honey Eaters, Benalla Wood Worker Association, Work Ways, Mental Illness Victoria, Capability Building (Ed Space), The Community Farm Men's Shed, NGJC through CVGT

CAL you can Community Farm partners include Synthesis & Hoffman.
