Central Access merged with Seymour-based business services unit G.A.T.E. Enterprises in January 2007.

  • G.A.T.E. Enterprises (Seymour) offers employment to people with a disability in Seymour and the surrounding district. Skilled supervisors work with employees, assisting them to develop new skills, confidence and self-esteem, allowing them to continue working with G.A.T.E. or seek open employment if they desire. Like Central Access G.A.T.E. and Wallan Industries offer a duality of service by providing employment for people with disablilities - whilst operating as a commercial business.

Did you know...?

Of the Victorians with a disability aged between 15 and 64 who lived in community accommodation:

  • 219,300 (47 percent) were employed:
    • 138,200 worked full-time
    • 81,100 worked part-time
    • 85 percent worked within the private sector.
  • 30,000 were unemployed, giving rise to an unemployment rate of 12 percent, which compares with approximately eight percent for other Victorians.
  • 218,900 Victorians with a disability (27 percent) were not in the labour-force.
