Vision
To create and engender life learning in an inclusive and safe rural environment that encourages connection through community participation.
Activities
The
CAL Community Farm is available to all members of the community – individuals, clubs and groups, to use for their own (approved) activities, participate in activities organised by Central Access or conduct meetings. Elsewhere on this site are contact details to help people make a booking and discuss potential activities at the Farm.
Central Access has identified 3 target groups that it believes stand to gain the most from participation in the Farm project. They include:
People with a Disability
Central Access Limited’s core business is delivering services to people with a disability. The
CAL Community Farm will further enhance the programs available to clients. Living in a rural community brings with it a unique combination of support mechanisms and life skills needs.
Youth
This project seeks ways of improving the number of young people who study and stay in the community through pathways into further studies and working lives in the region. These pathways will involve partnerships with individuals and companies who may ultimately become their employer. The
CAL Community Farm will ensure that the human resources local industry needs to grow in the future, are available – locally!
U3A
The
CAL Community Farm will also provide, for the most experienced in the community, an opportunity to share the traditional and trade skills from our unique history and culture. This will be achieved by what is called the
"University of the Third Age" (U3A) where retired people are provided with a forum to share their experiences with future generations in a genuine, supportive environment.
