Leave a Bequest
Bequests can be one of the most personal ways in which people can leave a lasting benefit to people with disabilities in our communities. A bequest to
Central Access in your Will can be a means of making a significant contribution to support the delivery of services to others in the community.
A bequest is when you make a gift of personal property, such as cash, real estate, furniture, motor vehicle, shares etc.
There are three basic types of bequest.
-
Special Bequest
This is a gift of a specific amount of cash, or a particular piece of property — such as a house, furniture or jewellery, which is made to a person or organisation.
-
General or Pecuniary Bequest
This is a gift of some proportion of the value of an estate, or the value of some part of it, which is given direct to a person or the organisation.
-
Residual Bequest
This occurs once any specific or general bequests have been made from an estate. A person may direct that anything remaining be given to a particular person or organisation.
Central Access welcomes bequests of any type.
Become a Volunteer
Volunteers make a significant and extremely valued contribution to the work undertaken by the
Central Access. Many of our programs involve volunteer workers in different capacities, and volunteers working through a variety of committees and auxiliaries provide invaluable assistance to the organisation every day.
Volunteers supplement the workforce in areas as diverse as classroom assistance, light maintenance work at one of our many sites and gardening (when the weather suits).
To inquire about becoming a program volunteer, phone
The
Volunteer Coordinator on
(03) 5761 3555.
(Because of the nature of the services provided by
Central Access, it is only possible to accommodate program volunteers on weekdays.)
The following positions are volunteer only (not paid work)
- Assisting instructors in the classroom, and
- Helping to develop independent living, leisure and recreation skills.
This is immensely rewarding work with wonderful people and staff.

Organise and Participate in a Fund Raising Event
From time to time,
Central Access is approached by members of community groups or clubs that are looking to raise money for other members of the community.
Central Access is very discerning in the types of events it can lend its name to, but if you feel that your event may fit within our parameters, we welcome your call. Who knows, we may even be able to help raise the profile of your organisation, increase your membership and assist you in other ways.
